Jack Swanson has served Roseau County as Commissioner of District 2 since 2006. Commissioner Swanson is originally from the area, and has spent all but ten years of his adult life residing in the county. His father Ole Swanson was born and raised in Warroad and his mother Connie (Sonsteng) was born and raised in Roseau. Jack Swanson and his wife Nancy lived in Madison, Wisconsin from 1986-1996 where Jack was the play-by-play voice of the Wisconsin Badgers and the sports director for the Wisconsin Radio Network. The Swanson's returned to Roseau in 1996 to raise their two sons Jeff and Willie and to start KCAJ-FM radio (KJ-102). Jeff teaches biology and chemistry at Roseau High School; his wife Angie is a first grade teacher at Roseau Elementary; they have two daughters, Abby and Hannah. Willie works for the Minnesota Department of Corrections as a probation officer in Benton County; he and his wife Emily live in St Cloud. Commissioner Swanson's broadcast career continues and he can be heard weekdays on the KJ-102 morning show.
